Second LCYD Forum Continues Success

State Senator and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Rod Smith spoke last night to about thirty attendees at the Leon County Young Democrats second forum. Senator Smith spoke about the plight of public education in Florida, making healthcare more accessable for all Floridians, and his plans to fix those problems if elected. Folowing his talk, Senator Smith took time to answer several questions from the audience and pose for pictures.

The LCYD thank Sen. Smith for participating in our forum series and for giving a great talk. The success of the LCYD forums will continue late next month. Details will be announced on this web log.

The event last night with Senator Smith was great! I especially liked the relaxed atmosphere which allowed him to take questions from the group and get down to a more personal level. I really hope that more people get to hear what Sen. Smith stands for b/c I think they would get behind him.

Can we expect a similar event for Sen. Smith's Democratic opponent, Rep. Jim Davis?

The LCYD's want to have Rep. Davis speak at a forum as well. Many young democrats like myself haven't committed to a gubernatorial candidate yet. Hearing from each candidate is a great way to decide who gets your vote.

I hope Rep. Davis will be able to speak at one of our forums soon.

My question is, where was this event promoted? I didn't hear about it at all and I would prefer not to miss the next one.
